Kansai
region is in the center of Japan. It is bounded on the north by the
Japan Sea, and on the south by the Seto Island Sea and the Pacific Ocean.
It includes 3 big cities, Osaka, Kobe and Kyoto. And it has Kansai International
Airport.
Kansai
region occupies 10% of Japan's land area. It consists of 19% of the
population and 18% of the gross national product. Kansai region plays
an important role in the Japanese economy, ranking next to Tokyo metropolitan
area. The gross product in Kansai in 1995 was higher than that of countries
such as Spain and Canada.
