I think that " Internet " is a controversial technology. But as far as I am concerned, it is a great tool. I got a new friend through it last year. She is an American and makes interesting rugs. I get a new teacher this year. I am learning to hook with No. 9 or 10 cut by e-mails, a new way of hooking. Before the lesson I imagined the differences between No. 7 cut and No. 9 were a bigger hook and simpler shading. Soon I found that I was wrong. I had to change my way of holding a hook and selecting wool. Technically I can hook any material but my arm does not because pulling No. 9 cut strips up requires more strength than narrow cut. So I choose thinner wool in my stock for most of the pattern and endured the hard task for some part, as I want to have the colors. It is coming nicely so far. I wish to thank to T. Becker for giving me this opportunity. I have been hooking for 24 years and still have some new things to learn which, I think, is wonderful. I am taking hooking lessons at Mira River Rug Hooking School at the end of May. Which means I am visiting Acadia, Canada. It is my dream to visit the region because people there have been making rugs for decadesAprobably centuries and French Culture influenced them. I have seen pictures of beautiful rugs. In addition to that I am scheduled to view old rugs the Halifax Museum own. I am visiting my friends too. How lucky I am to take such a trip! |
